The first annual Chefs Helping the Homeless benefit, co-hosted by Broward Partnership for the Homeless, Inc. (BPHI). and Florida Table magazine, raised more than $33,000 to help the homeless. The proceeds from this exclusive evening of gourmet meals prepared by twelve of South Florida’s most celebrated chefs will provide thousands of nutritious meals for the homeless men, women and children served by BPHI.

“BPHI’s solution-focused program to help the homeless includes three nutritious meals every day,” said Carlos Reyes, Esq., event co-chair and BPHI Board of Directors member. “It’s only fitting that our newest event would feature South Florida’s best restaurants and chefs generously donating their time and skills to support BPHI in its ongoing mission to rebuild lives.”

The exclusive evening began with a VIP cocktail reception at the newly-opened Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Fort Lauderdale showroom, where guests enjoyed a silent auction before limousines whisked them away to a surprise restaurant for a four-course gourmet dinner.

“Our celebrity chefs really outdid themselves,” said Marie Speed, event co-chair and group editor-in-chief, Florida Table magazine. “Chefs Helping the Homeless was truly a food-lovers’ adventure, and is destined to be one of the most sought-after charity event tickets in South Florida.”

Each chef provided VIP treatment at their restaurants. A few of the highlights included: Guests at Trina Restaurant & Lounge dined in the luxurious penthouse of The Atlantic Hotel & Spa, and enjoyed the culinary expertise of Executive Chef Brian Kay while sipping wine before a gorgeous backdrop of the ocean at dusk. Executive Chef Holger Struett at Chops Lobster Bar in Boca Raton served a decadent seafood tower featuring massive crab legs, dozens of lobster tails, and bowls overflowing with blue crab. Aizia at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood started the meal with a sampler of saki infusions before Executive Sous Chef Andrew Cavalotto personally presented guests with a sampler of Aizia’s entire menu.
