Suddenly facing life alone with 4 small children,
Rachel finds shelter at BPHI

Rachel is the mother of four children ages 11 years through six months old. The relationship between Rachel and the father of her children began to sour and eventually reached the point where she had to leave with her four children. Although Rachel had steady employment with an orthopedist, she had not saved any money and had to move into her aunt’s home. While there she called the 2-1-1 helpline seeking shelter, eventually being referred to BPHI.

While at the Center, Rachel participated in weekly parenting classes, the Motivated Moms support group and sessions with the Family Therapist. In addition, she was able to access clothing for her family through the Center’s Clothing Room. Rachel continued to work and began saving her money until she had enough to move into her own apartment just before the Thanksgiving holiday. Rachel continues to attend the support group and Family Therapy sessions each week.
